DO-NOT-CALL VIOLATIONS - Get up to $1,500 per call!
Consumers interested in opting out of unsolicited telemarketing calls can register their phone numbers on the federal government's free Do Not Call Registry, available at https://donotcall.gov.
Once a consumer has registered his or her phone number on the Do Not Call List (or directly demanded that a particular company stop calling), it is a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA") to make an unsolicited telemarketing call to that consumer's number more than once in any 12-month period. Doing so entitles the consumer to up to $500 per call, or even as much as $1,500 per call where the TCPA was knowingly or willfully violated. Injunctive relief is also available to stop the calls.
